Grower’s Workshop: Propagation of Dahlias

Dahlias offer an unrivalled display of blooms from late summer through to autumn. They really deserve their place in any cut flower patch. Tubers can be expensive so being able to propagate your own from cuttings is a great skill to have.

During this course, we will:

• Discuss the different dahlia categories and their use in a cut flower patch
• Demonstrate how to prepare tubers for propagation and how to take cuttings from new shoots
• Offer a selection of pre-sprouted tubers for you to practice taking your own cuttings, which you will then take home
• Advise on how to pot up your rooted cuttings and how to care for them at home
• Give advice on growing on your new plants ready for planting out

We will provide all materials, necessary tools and homemade refreshments throughout the course.
